Opposites really do attract, don’t they?
Put your abilities to the test at Touch Volley Rec Center, a brand-new facility offering South Florida ballers with access to something a bit different to what they may be used to.
Although there are nets involved, you won’t be smashing any footballs into the back of them here. Touch Volley’s concept is as easy as it sounds: just imagine playing tennis or padel, but instead, swap out the fuzzy neon yellow sphere for a larger, geometrically wrapped ball and the racket for, well, your own two feet.
Add in the precision and teamwork that volleyball tends to require, and boom, you’ve got an all-new sport known as touch volley.
One of four (4) padel-sized courts, each one smeared with red, blue & green hues, will be your personal canvas to rack up points in this team vs. team active experience. Using all the body parts that you would normally use on the field, whether it’s your head, chest or feet, the objective is to volley the ball over the net. If the other team fails to control the ball properly and play it back within a certain number of touches, you earn a point.
Touch Volley Rec Center was born out of the inspirations drawn from the legends of the beautiful game. To pay homage to greats of past, present & future, the likes of Pelé, Diego Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappé have been plastered on the walls of the facility.
Nobody encapsulates the true art of Jogo Bonito more than Ronaldinho, though. Thankfully, a mural of the Brazilian magician can also be found at Touch Volley to inspire you to unleash your own inner Samba on the court.
Our personal favorite mural can be found on the next wall over from the one with Ronaldo, Mbappé and Neymar on it. This stunning piece depicts two boys, likely daydreaming of one day becoming superstars of the game, walking down a street as they juggle a football in a tropical paradise.
Touch Volley offers itself as the ultimate destination for the sport, and they strongly emphasize the fact that no matter where you rank when it comes to your footy skills, their courts are open to everyone.
