Overview:

After two years of success in Los Angeles, the Plei App made the executive decision to continue its takeover of the California pickup soccer scene. We entered none other than the state’s capital of Sacramento in early April 2024, hence becoming our 21st all-time market and our fifth of the year. 🌳

A partnership with leading 5-a-side chain facility Le Five Indoor Soccer kickstarted our efforts to further expand our presence on the West Coast. 📍

Now, we are offering pickup games at a second Street Soccer USA location! As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬

This poverty-fighting non-profit organization has dropped pins in 15 cities and counting; including four in California alone. The state’s capital is one of them. 📍

Street Soccer USA, the leading national sport-based youth and community development non-profit in the country. Boasting over a decade of experience, the organization works to create a lasting impact in the lives of not only their participants but also their families.

Their primary way of making this happen is by providing small-sided soccer fields in major cities across the country, and their location in Sacramento - known as the Union Pacific Street Soccer USA Park - is just one of them.

The formula remains consistent throughout most Street Soccer locations. Two (2) 5v5 (50’x70’) fields are what you’ll find here, each one equipped with some of the best state-of-the-art synthetic turf on the market. Both pitches are closed off by boards, giving you the ability to freely play off the wall like it’s FIFA Street. 🧱

Not only does Street Soccer USA offer turf fields to local communities, but they also host their own youth programs. Participants between elementary and high school age are all eligible.

Adult competitions are also available; everything from themed one-off tournaments (like the Homeless World Cup that takes place annually at the Hornet Stadium) to weekly leagues & more are what you can expect from Street Soccer’s Sacramento programming. 📆

The kicker here is that all programs are completely free of charge thanks to generous donations from their supportive community. After all, the core mission is to fight back against poverty, and using the beautiful game as the vehicle is symbolic of why the sport is so popular in the first place.

Besides league & tournament play, the organization opens up their Sac pitches for the purposes of field rentals, which can be booked here. 👈

It’s already a given, but in case you’re not aware, drop-ins are huge here as well. It’s now easy as ever to play some pickup at Street Soccer USA’s Sacramento location thanks to the Plei App. 📲
