Where it all began! Miami is where the Plei App calls home. Since partnering with our first facility, we have now expanded to over 20 facilities across Miami-Dade County. 😎 Since September 2018, we have been hosting pickup games at Stadio Soccer, and we are looking forward to continuing doing so for many years to come. As part of our new blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
Located beneath the I-95 highway of South Florida near exits 6A and 6B, Stadio Soccer is one of the most unique soccer facilities in the world. The fields are outdoor, yet they are protected from the weather as the entire venue is covered by the highway overhead.
Stadio Soccer stands out not only because of its four quality turf fields for up to 7v7, but because each field is named after a professional team and/or rivalry. There is a Barcelona/Real Madrid field, Chelsea/Manchester United field, a Boca Juniors/River Plate field and a Juventus field. For reference, the Juventus field is the closest field to the main parking lot (parking is free)!
Inside the Plei App, Stadio offers varying difficulty levels of play that can be seen within the app, as well as King of the Turf and special 90-minute matches!
In the middle of the facility is a large recreational area where players and guests can hang out, watch live matches on their televisions, and buy snacks and refreshments. They also have a really neat balcony area filled with tables, located right above the concession stand! Up here, you’ll find a large projector screen, perfect for the big games. (Tip: Stadio is one of the most exciting, vibrant places in all of Miami to watch big tournaments like the upcoming World Cup 👀)
If you plan on pulling up to Stadio and it’s your first time, your first pickup game can be free! All you have to do is sign up for alerts here, and you’ll receive a voucher for a free Plei App game.
Professional players stop by Stadio all the time! Most notably, French striker Karim Benzema and Argentina legend Kun Agüero have both made appearances, with Kun’s attendance being the most recent (he came by this past June!)
Leagues for all ages and skill levels are happening year-round at Stadio, with money prizes up for grabs! Youth academies are also held here. Their academy is particularly unique because it is part of a city-wide league where various academies play each other, offering the opportunity for kids to get that exciting travel soccer experience at a young age.
