After two years of success in Los Angeles, Plei made the executive decision to continue its takeover of the California pickup soccer scene. We entered none other than the state’s capital of Sacramento in early April 2024, hence becoming our 21st all-time market and our fifth of the year. 🌳
A partnership with leading 5-a-side chain facility Le Five Indoor Soccer kickstarted our efforts to further expand our presence on the West Coast. 📍
Now, we are offering pickup games at Soccer World in Elk Grove! As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
We’re talking about Soccer World, home to some of the most visited in all of Greater Sacramento. They’ve got a number of different amenities that establish them as a top-tier soccer venue, but nothing more essential than their two (2) state-of-the-art synthetic turf fields.
The star of the show is their 8v8 pitch, which is as good as they come. Fully equipped with a scoreboard and surrounded by boards, this field provides a perfect setting for non-stop action thanks to the exclusion of any touchlines.
Don’t sleep on their 6v6 field. It might be smaller, but it sure offers just as good as an environment for the beautiful game. Since the dimensions of this pitch require less players, expect to touch the ball much more often compared to playing 8-a-side.
Like we mentioned, Soccer World in Elk Grove is all about league & tournament play. We aren’t joking at all: the facility offers a long list of men, women, co-ed, and open divisions for nearly every age group you can imagine.
Under 18? They’ve got leagues starting from U10 and up to U17 for boys and girls?
Once you do hit 18 years old, you are eligible to play in their 18+ men’s, women's and co-ed 18+ leagues.
A league specifically for women 25 and older is available as well, but there’s also a 30+ one, each with A & B divisions.
For men, the next age group up is the 35+ league, which has both A & B divisions. Even further up is a men’s 40+ league.
See what we mean? Offering as many age groups as possible is an intentional move by Soccer World in order to keep their tournaments as balanced, fair and competitive as possible, so you don’t ever have to worry about going up against someone way beyond (or below) your skill level.
Besides offering a vibrant menu of leagues & tournaments, Soccer World also specializes in hospitality. At their facility, you can find a sports bar & lounge area, which is optimal for post-game celebrations, socializing, re-energizing; you name it.
We don’t discriminate against other sports, by the way. Soccer World in Elk Grove also opens up their turf fields and spaces for other activities, including softball, volleyball, flag football and cornhole.
