The Plei App wasn’t letting up in early 2024. In late February, we expanded to yet another new market to bring our state count up to 14: Boston, Massachusetts! 🦞 Beantown became our fourth new region of the year in just under two months time. The next facility we partnered with in the city is Kroc Salvation Army | Boston! As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬

Located on the border of Roxbury and Dorchester, The Salvation Army Boston Kroc is a community center with indoor and outdoor facilities that welcomes everyone to enjoy their incredible amenities! 👪
One of these amenities is a pristine soccer pitch that is sure to excite any lover of the beautiful game about showcasing their skills. At this field, we’ll be featuring unforgettable 9v9 games with a historic neighborhood serving as your backdrop. ⚽️
The field at Kroc Salvation Army is a high-quality synthetic turf pitch with overhead lights, so you can play into the evenings without losing the ball. 😉
In addition to playing pickup with us at this field, the Salvation Army also partially hosts league play through Volo Sports - Boston. So, if you know of some other local ballers who are down to compete for a trophy, you just might lift the cup at this amazing pitch. 🏆
Being that this field is associated with the Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, located across the street, it’s absolutely worth mentioning all the incredible things that you can do alongside footy pickup. 🤩
The Salvation Army was created to help people, so their community centers serve as hubs to ensure people have access to amenities that you can find in many cities. Tired of the excessive summer heat? Who needs to drive long distances to a water park when they have an indoor swimming pool with an aquatics park attached! 😍
Soccer and swimming aren’t the only sports you can enjoy here, too! With a massive gymnasium, the Boston Kroc Center is the perfect spot to run pick up games for basketball, as well as join their open play games. 🏀
If you’re looking for something more competitive and structured, the Boston Kroc Center also offers a men’s basketball summer league. All you have to do is assemble your best 8-12 man crew and register on the Boston Kroc Center’s rec page! ⛹️♂️
Looking to stay fit in other ways? The Boston Kroc Center also has a fitness and wellness center with physical strength and cardio machines for all of your exercise needs. 🏋️🏃
The Boston Kroc Center offers its members classes and recreational sports programs of all kinds. Share your love for the beautiful game with your little ones and enroll them in the Boston Kroc Center’s Beginner Youth Soccer or their regular level Youth Soccer programs. Check out the center’s Coed Soccer Open Play on Saturdays. ⚽🥅
Take advantage of the center’s Kids Tae Kwon-Do lessons, as well, where kids learn discipline and useful self-defense skills. 🥋
But it isn’t just all about sports here at the Boston Kroc Center. They also offer Culinary Arts Training Programs for those interested in learning culinary techniques to take their skills to the next level. 🧑🍳
The Boston Kroc Center holds cookouts, outdoor movie nights, and other events that constantly give the community something fun to look forward to.
