Where it all began! Miami is where Plei calls home. Since partnering with our first facility, we have now expanded to over 20 facilities across Miami-Dade County. 😎
Since August 2024, we have been hosting pickup games at Shelton Academy in Doral, and we are looking forward to continuing doing so for many years to come. As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬

And we’re just so glad that they do. At its core, Shelton Academy is a top-class educational institution, offering students from grades PK3 to 12th a personalized education & academic excellence that is integrated with the traditions of Catholic faith.
The school aims to foster new areas of growth that help shape character, enhance interaction and promote leadership qualities, and their well-established after-school program is testament to this.
Alongside academics & arts, sports also play an important role in this program, by the way. Shelton Academy boasts an outdoor athletic complex of sorts, which features a number of key amenities that are actually open to the public.
But who would’ve thought that a prestigious soccer pitch would be one of them?
Featuring state-of-the-art synthetic turf, this field is sized for 7-a-side and provides an elite setting for Doral ballers of all skill levels. It just doesn’t get more unique than playing some pickup footy on a field belonging to a private school.
In an effort to cater to other key pastimes, Shelton Academy also included a set of tennis courts in their after-school sports area. Exclusively for younger students, there is a playground located immediately next to the soccer pitch.
Plei first hosted a pickup game at Shelton Academy Soccer on August 28, 2024, and we continue to play here today.
