With new expansions in early 2024 adding an entirely new sector to their building as well as a brand-new, much more spacious parking lot, Roma Sports Club is clearly not messing about when it comes to establishing itself as the number one athletic facility in the area.
There’s a reason why they are the preferred destination for thousands of athletes within Frankfort and neighboring communities; Roma Sports Club is the definition of a one-stop shop for sports in general. No matter what your pastime is, there’s a place for you at this facility, and we mean that literally.
In case you don’t believe us, we listed below all the sports that can be played at Roma Sports Club, whether in their outdoor spaces or on their state-of-the-art outdoor fields:

If we’re on the same page, you should have guessed soccer. Let us show you why Roma Sports Club is one of the best places to enjoy the beautiful game in all of Illinois.
Nearly all of the sports surfaces found at this facility are primarily lined & equipped for footy, and there are a lot of fields & courts here. Starting from the inside, you’ll find a multi-use turf field that is as spacious as they come. Measuring 150 by 210 feet (50 by 70 yards), you can enjoy pickup games of 9v9 or 10v10 here.
The plus is that the field features an overlay so that it can be divided into two (2) separate ones, with a divider curtain available to make the split obvious. Each smaller field measures 105 by 150 feet (35 by 50 yards), making them ideal for 7v7 or 8v8.
Besides soccer, other sports that require a grass surface - namely lacrosse, baseball, softball & flag football - call this turf field home at Roma Sports Club. The facility takes it upon themselves to swap out equipment such as nets and mounds in order to accommodate the correct sport at the time of rental, so you can take that off your list of worries.
Elsewhere in Roma Sports Club, you’ll come across a full court gym space, which measures 74 by 90 feet. Naturally, this is where all the hooping takes place, but what if we told you that you can show off your tekkers here as well?
We told you soccer is the top dog at this facility. When sports like basketball & volleyball aren’t being played, the court is probably being used for futsal thanks to extra overlay for the sport.
Here, you have your choice of enjoying 6-a-side futsal using the entire court space or using just a half-court for some 4v4 or 5v5 in case you happen to be short some players.
We are nowhere near done covering everything that Roma Sports Club has to offer for the beautiful game. The facility boasts an outdoor soccer complex of sorts, which is home to five (5) different fields of varying sizes.
Be sure to come prepared as these fields feature natural grass. That being said, pack your FGs if you plan to play on these pitches. If you plan on enjoying pickup on the turf fields and futsal courts found inside of Roma Sports Club as well, then that’s three different boot types you’ll have to bring with you.
Although all of the fields and courts found at Roma Sports Club are available for public use via rental, programming takes up a good chunk of the facility’s schedule. Leagues, tournaments, camps & clinics exist for virtually every sport that can be played here, keeping the venue busy 7 days a week.
The facility is also home to Roma FC, the premier youth soccer club in the region. You can find their players using Roma Sports Club’s facilities throughout the year.
