In November 2022, Plei officially expanded into our 13th market, Atlanta, Georgia! 🍑
Another one of the pickup facilities that we have partnered with in the region is Recreation ATL; we’ve been hosting games here since September 2024! As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
While ATL has some incredible footy pitches, the surrounding suburbs also feature an array of must-see soccer hotspots that you’ll love to play on! Located in Lilburn, Georgia, Recreation ATL boasts an outdoor turf field that perfectly suits 7v7 matches. ⚽
Did we mention this pitch has lights? That means you can play pickup footy day and night without worrying about ball visibility. It’s also important to note that the fence surrounding the field keeps the ball close, so you won’t have to chase after the ball every time it rolls out of play! 😅
The amazing thing about Recreation ATL is that playing footy is just one of many ways you can stay active here. If you’re a big fan of racquet sports, then you’ll be excited to know that this facility is most-known for its seven (7) indoor racquetball courts!
Whether you choose to play by the hour with family and friends, or sign up for one of the many tournaments they host, Recreation ATL is Gwinnett County’s hotspot for all things racquetball. You can even get your gear here, too! The pro shop, located inside the facility, offers racquets, balls, and anything else you’d need to play. They even have a same-day racquet stringing service, as well.
Another sport that gets a lot of love at Recreation ATL is basketball. This facility boasts two (2) indoor half-courts where you can work on your shot or play pickup with family and friends. This unique amenity offers you the ability to play basketball in peace. No distractions. Just you and the hoop. Recreation ATL also has a full, outdoor basketball as well, so if you prefer a full court session, then they got you totally covered. 🏀
It’s not often that we feature facilities that have pools, but this spot just happens to have one. During the warmer months of the year, Recreation ATL offers swimming lessons for both children and adults. This pool is also available for private use, too. Hosting a pool party just got 100% easier!
Surrounding the pool are plenty of beach chairs, tables and umbrellas that will keep you shaded from the hot Georgia sun. This part of the facility can comfortably hold 200+ people. It comes equipped with outdoor lighting, a DJ booth, a professional sound system and a charcoal grill. They even have tiki torches for a Hawaiin getaway vibe.
We’ve already shared with you some amazing amenities, but Recreation ATL offers so much more. Looking to work on your physical fitness, or tired of going to the same ol’ gym? This facility features a full indoor fitness center, offering cardio and weight machines, as well as free-weights. You can also move your workout outside with their crossfit training center.
If you’re looking for fitness programs with more structure to them, Recreation ATL offers free classes to club members. Classes held here include: Pilates, H.I.I.T. (High Intensity Interval Training), Isshinryu Karate and Water Aerobics. Elderly members can even take advantage of the Silver Sneakers fitness programs, which are designed to promote mobility, flexibility and strength training for senior citizens.
With all the main attractions covered, we have to touch on some awesome honorable mentions as well! This facility boasts steam rooms, saunas, and whirlpools. And if you’re trying to have some lowkey fun, they have a ping pong table indoors. Recreation ATL is a must-see spot for people of all ages.
