Just two days after we announced our expansion into California’s capital in April 2024, Plei doubled down by launching in another huge West Coast market: the San Francisco Bay Area! 🌉
We kicked off our presence in this diverse region by partnering with SFF Soccer - Mission Bay Field! We then doubled down by joining forces with The Park San Jose. As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬

And they made it happen. Based in San Francisco, CA, NorCal Athletics is a community based, recreational not for profit soccer league founded back in 2004. Although they typically host their events at already pre-existing field spaces, they decided it was time to take matters into their own hands in (date of construction).
That’s precisely where the idea of Potrero Field came into play. Specifically designed for futsal-style, off-the-wall action, their very own 7v7 pickup soccer pitch was installed at the heart of the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco.
The key detail that stands out about this field? It’s quite literally located inside the shared parking lot of a local church known as VIVE Church San Francisco. What also makes this site even more unique is that there are also four (4) basketball courts here as well.
Looks like adding a pickup soccer field into the mix wasn’t that crazy of an idea after all.
Plei first hosted a pickup game at NorCal Athletics’ Potrero Field on August 20, 2024, and we continue to play here today.
