Texas is our second home after Florida, so we were never going to stop at just Houston and DFW. In early April 2024, Plei officially expanded into a third region within the Lone Star State: the beautiful city of Austin! 🎸
We celebrated this by partnering once again with a multi-location facility that just so happened to open their first venue in Austin just a few weeks prior: Q&B Sports. 📍
Now, we’ve added another top facility to the app: The Pitch’s Parmer Field! As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
Located at The Pitch, Northeast Austin’s newest sports, dining & entertainment destination, Parmer Field is the official home stadium of Austin FC’s reserve team, Austin FC II. But what if we told you it could be your new home for pickup footy as well? 🤩
The Pitch offers you the ability to rent Parmer Field for pickup soccer games, private tournaments and events! This gorgeous pitch is perfect for full-sized 11v11 matches filled with unforgettable footy fun. And if you look to plan a sports event here, you’ll be thrilled to know that Parmer Field is equipped with 1,100-person stadium seating and includes one (1) high-quality turf field and one (1) natural grass pitch. 🏟️
With top-class overhead lighting, playing at Parmer Field will definitely make you feel like a pro baller! If you come for the footy, we know you’ll stay for the food and fun! The Pitch is one of the most exciting places to hang out in Austin with no shortage of activities for Austinites of all ages. Spanning 61,000 square feet, The Pitch is a sports and entertainment venue designed, mostly, from shipping containers. This architectural style is representative of what you find in Austin, which at times blends industrial components with modern presentation. The green accents in their designs and lighting also highlights a connection with Austin FC.
Whether you come to The Pitch to play footy or attend a game, make sure you arrive hungry! With four restaurants, two bars and a coffee shop, you’re never short of delicious options here. Don’t worry! We’ll briefly touch on the mouth-watering options, so we hope you’re taking notes. 😏
What says Texas more than barbecue and tacos? Luckily for you, The Pitch has both! Check out Smoke Show Sandwiches, where they offer some traditional Texas-style BBQ stacked high on sourdough bread with queso de Oaxaca. And if you’re more in the mood for Mexican food, then Dos Tacos is serving up some fun selections like the Chicken & Mango taco, which consists of Jamaican jerk chicken, griddled onions and mango habanero slaw. Be sure to check out their frozen margaritas, too! 🌮
While those are both solid options, you can’t sleep on Ranger Burger, especially if you’re a true Austinite! This is no ordinary burger joint. Their Ranger Burger has Wagyu beef from Ranger Cattle in East Austin, and it’s available in a single or double. If you’re looking for options, their Grilled Chicken Sandwich is tender and juicy, served with homemade pickles and Cholula slaw. With sauces like spicy ketchup, bbq, ranger sauce and cilantro ranch on offer, you simply can’t forget the fries!
The best place to get a drink at The Pitch, which happens to have the best name out of all the establishments here, is Corner Kick Bar. Whether you’re looking for a frozen classic like a Piña Colada, a soccer-theme cocktail like the Playmaker, or a local beer like Pinthouse Electric Jellyfish, the Corner Kick Bar has so many tasty and refreshing beverages to enhance your sports-outing! 🍸
Last but not least, we have a spot for you to get coffee and another for you to enjoy some ice cream. Coffee Club gives you the kick you’re looking for with a wide option of coffee and espresso drinks as well as local pastries. The Sand Box is The Pitch’s kid-friendly spot! Enjoy some soft-serve, milkshakes, popcorn and cotton candy while you play fun games like Giant Jenga and Corn Hole. And while we’re talking about the Sand Box, we must mention our favorite amenity this eatery offers: one (1) sand soccer pitch with two goals, with a view of Parmer Pond!
I know you’re asking yourself, “Can this place possibly get any cooler?” Indeed it can! If you’re a racquet sports enthusiast or you’ve always wanted to try your hand at playing them, The Pitch has three (3) pickleball courts for you to enjoy. The courts are available to rent by the hour, for special occasions and pickleball tournaments. With lights in between each court, you can play any time until close. 🏸
Speaking of rentals, The Pitch is a perfect place to host birthday parties, corporate get togethers and private events. Beyond the fields and courts mentioned, this facility has a conference building separate from the main structure. They also have two (2) large lounge areas available for booking in their upstairs dining spaces, both ideal for groups of up to 50 guests.
Large parties of 40+ guests are eligible to book the outdoor space, which includes reserved tables or dining sections, cocktail service or a large party tab. Full venue bookings for a max of 5,000 guests is also available. These would generally be for concerts, corporate outings, weddings, festivals and more. 🥳
Boasting a whole host of big screen TVs, The Pitch is the best spot in Austin to catch any sporting event. Their close connection to Austin FC makes this a prime location to attend gameday watch parties. If you’re a diehard Austin FC fan, then you’ll know that The Pitch is located directly next to St. David’s Performance Center. This 23-acre complex is the training home of Austin FC’s first team and academy teams. It features four soccer pitches and includes a 30,000-square-foot building which houses the team’s training equipment as well as offices for the operations and technical staff.
In addition to Austin FC watch parties, The Pitch hosts NFL watch parties, family movie nights, live music series, and much more.
