On March 1, 2020, we announced the Plei App’s entrance into its third market, Orlando, FL! 🎢 We were so excited to finally welcome Central Florida to our family, but as luck would have it, the pandemic happened. 😭 We waited patiently (and we know our Orlando ballers were waiting patiently too) until finally in January 2021, we relaunched! 🔥
In August 2024, we began hosting games at Neo Soccer, a unique field located behind a local gym. We are looking forward to continuing doing so for many years to come! As part of our new blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
Everything about this facility is truly unique. Let us amaze you really quick.
For starters, this is a building that locals may remember used to be a gas station for quite a long time before eventually shutting down for good. Today, it has been completely re-purposed and now belongs to United Front Community Fitness, a veteran and family-owned gym that works to provide a welcoming, non-judgmental environment for those looking to improve their lives through fitness.
The gym itself opened its doors back in summer 2017, but they decided to take a step further in late 2024.
The upgrade was none other than a pickup turf soccer field, which you can find on the back left side of the building right beside a lake. The pitch, although located on United Front premises, actually exists as a separate entity known as NEO Soccer and is open exclusively for rentals as well as 5v5 pickup footy via the Plei App.
A beautiful mural on the side of the building facing the field provides the backdrop for matches here. Completed in April 2024, the piece was created by artist Alfredo Barranco in memory of Mr. Julio, a close friend and fellow artist who passed away two years prior.
It’s safe to say that Mr. Julio’s legacy is in safe hands, because this mural is nothing short of stunning. Mr. Julio had endless stories and ideas about space and the world beyond Earth, hence the astronaut portrayed in the center. To maintain the theme of the beautiful game, Barranco has the astronaut kicking a soccer ball towards a barrage of colors and the NEO logo.
Mr. Julio is immortalized on the right side of the mural, smiling as he looks towards the work he himself helped inspire.
