In January 2024, the Plei App officially expanded into our 17th region: Grand Rapids, Michigan. 🍻 We kicked things off in the Beer City by partnering with Grand Rapids Soccer Society. We later added a second local facility to the app, known as MSA Sports Spot. 🤝
Introducing the latest pickup venue to arrive on the app: Little Pine Island Camp! As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
We’re back in the Great Lake State with what may be our most serene and scenic footy pitch yet! Located in Comstock Park, Little Pine Island Camp is home to a beautiful field that resides in a campsite and retreat center owned by the Salvation Army. 😍
At this gorgeous field, we will be hosting full-sized 11v11 games for you to showcase your soccer skills! Surrounded by trees and greenery, playing here will feel like you have your very own private soccer sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Grand Rapids. ⚽🌲
Even though playing pickup footy is the most exciting thing to do here (we’re obviously biased 😉), it isn’t the only fun activity available to you here.
Little Pine Island Camp is an ideal spot for families or organizations to bond with one another in a camp and retreat style setting. This site isn’t remote, either. It’s located just 10 minutes away from downtown Grand Rapids! 🤩
With a multitude of lodges, cabins and halls on the premises, Little Pine Island (or LPI) is available for corporate, church, organizational, or school retreats, as well as family reunions or weddings. 🎉🫂
If you do book an event here, LPI offers guests a full kitchen so you never have to worry about serving guests or colleagues. They provide two food options, as well, that take their accommodations to the next level! You can either provide your own food and cookware, or the Little Pine Island Camp staff can provide food for an additional fee. 🍽️🧑🍳
LPI also offers a whole host of outdoor amenities for those looking to connect with nature and find a tranquil space to enjoy peace and quiet. There is a lakeside playground, a high and low challenge course, and a waterfront where you can ride paddle boats and canoes! 🛶🛝
