Way back in July 2019, the Plei App expanded outside Florida for the first time, partnering with multiple facilities in Houston, Texas. 🚀 We are excited to announce a brand new partnership, this time with Houston Sports Park! As part of an ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬

Ball out on the same fields as the professionals at Houston Sports Park (HSP), located just off of State Highway 288. Approximately 10 miles south of Dynamo FC’s official home stadium in downtown Houston, HSP was built in part to address the lack of quality sports specific recreational facilities throughout the city. 🏗️
Let’s just say that the problem has been fully addressed. 🤷
The photos would have already spoiled it a bit, but HSP boasts a grand total of eight (8) full-size fields for 11v11 play. Of the six found on the north side of the park, five of these fields feature natural Bermuda grass, while one of them has synthetic FieldTurf™ installed. You can tell by that pitch’s darker shade of green compared to the rest. 🌿
Keep in mind that you’ll be limited to just the six fields found across the street from the Performance Center, as the two fields south of Mowery Road are reserved for exclusive use by the Houston Dynamo and visiting professional teams. 🔒
The story of Houston Sports Park began back in 2011, when a joint effort between the City of Houston, the Houston Parks Board and the Houston Dynamo ended in the establishment of an initial seven (7) lighted fields, a water playground and a medical sports building. 📖
The park has since seen plenty of renovations over the years, with the most recent one seeing an eighth field go up. HSP isn’t stopping there, though. 🙅
A second phase of construction that will see a further 11 fields be installed, as well the installment of a number of key amenities, including:
Long story short, if HSP wasn’t previously the definition of a superfacility, it will most definitely be after this second renovation phase is all said and done. 🦸
Although the park itself doesn’t offer any sort of concession stand or vending machines, food trucks do pop in from time to time. You’re more likely to see them around during special events and busier days, though. 🗓️
If you do get lucky and spot them on the day of your pickup game, then don’t hesitate to grab yourself something to munch on or take home; you’re bound to be hungry at some point. 😋
Speaking of getting lucky, maybe you’ll even run into some Dynamo and Dash players while you’re balling out. Be sure to impress them if they come around. 👀
