After two years of success in Los Angeles, Plei made the executive decision to continue its takeover of the California pickup soccer scene. We entered none other than the state’s capital of Sacramento in early April 2024, hence becoming our 21st all-time market and our fifth of the year. 🌳
Beyond our partnerships with private pickup facilities, we also work to have a presence at the fields found at local public parks! Hagginwood Park in North Sacramento is one of those. As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner fields in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬

That’s all thanks to the renovation of the pre-existing soccer field that has been keeping local ballers coming through to Hagginwood Park, located in the neighborhood of - you guessed it - Hagginwood, for nearly a decade and a half.
We won’t go into detail, but let’s just say it was about time the field got a facelift. 😅
We already implied it, but Hagginwood Park is home to a single footy pitch, featuring newly replaced synthetic turf as well as brand-new shock padding beneath it. It’s also sized perfectly to accommodate full-length 11v11 games, but 8v8 is also possible.
You may have realized it by now from the photos: this field is also lined with flag football striping, giving a sense of versatility that is an absolute must nowadays for a sports facility/complex to be successful.
That being said, don’t think that’s all there is at Hagginwood Park. It may just be 16 acres, but the architects sure knew how to take advantage of the limited room. Just west of the athletic field is a baseball field. ⚾
If you head northeast of the pitch, passing the playground and the pavilions, you’ll run into a basketball court. 🏀
Beyond sports, Hagginwood Park is a staple for the North Sactown locals for more than just sports, though. The Hagginwood Community Center found here has been the home of countless local events since 2010, and continues to be today.
It also got quite the touching up, by the way. ⬆️
The park makes for great family/friend gatherings as well thanks to the inclusion of seven (7) picnic areas, so don’t look past that.

Plei first hosted a pickup game at Hagginwood Park on July 6, 2024, and we continue to play here today.
