In January 2024, the Plei App officially expanded into our 17th region: Grand Rapids, Michigan. 🍻 We kicked things off in the Beer City by partnering with Grand Rapids Soccer Society. Keep reading to learn all about this special indoor footy venue! 👇
As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
Opened in January 2024, Grand Rapids Soccer Society has arrived to take the local pickup scene by storm. ⛈️
At GRSS, you’ll find two (2) state-of-the-art indoor turf fields, each measuring 80 by 130 feet, making them suitable for 5v5 games. The artificial turf grass has been installed by ForeverLawn West Michigan. 🌿
They’ve taken the minimalist, modern approach in designing their facility, and we have to say, it’s quite beautiful. For starters, the venue is fully air-conditioned. Viewing areas with benches have been conveniently placed all around the two fields for spectators and players waiting to enter the action. There’s also a staircase that leads up a balcony area if you want to catch the action from above. 👀
Scoreboards have been installed to keep track of those extra competitive encounters. 🔢
There’s also a spacious lounge area available for guests. You’ll find that this area has been minimally decorated to create a soothing ambience. 🆒
Elsewhere, you’ll find that the venue owners have placed Teqball tables if you want to put your skills to the test. ⚽
The designers of GRSS have made sure to prioritize ease of access. The two fields are separated by a corridor walkway which you can take in order to easily reach either side of the facility. 👌
Speaking of design, the venue keeps the minimalistic vibe going by placing black & white artwork of football legends all along the walls that surround the fields. You can recognize players like Diego Maradona and Johan Cruyff, among others, in the photos we’ve provided. 📸
You might be wondering what exactly goes down at Grand Rapids Soccer Society. Well, the facility is home to plenty of programming, including both adult and youth leagues & tournaments, youth sports programs with experienced coaches, and daily pickup games via the Plei App, of course. 📲
