Overview:‍

In November 2022, the Plei App officially expanded into our 13th market, Atlanta, Georgia! 🍑 Another one of the public parks that we have begun hosting pickup games at in the region is Franklin Gateway Sports Complex; we’ve been hosting games here since May 2024! As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬

Your one-stop shop for all things outdoor 11v11 footy can be found not too far northwest of Atlanta in the city of Marietta. 📍

One look at this public park from a bird's eye view is all we needed to be convinced. That being said, welcome to the Franklin Gateway Sports Complex. 👋

Three (3) full-sized synthetic fields are what you’ll find here, each identical in their measurements. Each pitch features Shaw Sports Turf equipped with evaporating cooling technology, making them some of the highest quality fields available in the market. 👌

Lacrosse can also be accommodated here. 🥍

Note: All three fields are equal in size and each measure 336’ x 225’ in their totality. For soccer, they measure 112’ x 75’, and 110’x 60’ for lacrosse.

Being a full-fledged sports complex, there’s much more to enjoy besides the soccer fields. Other key amenities include a walking trail, a youth playground area, a covered pavilion, a concessions area and restrooms. 👍

Of course, the beautiful game is the main event at Franklin Gateway, primarily in the form of programming by third-party sponsors. Fun fact: reservations by MLS club Atlanta United are fairly common on the fields and hold highest priority in the park’s event calendar. 📆

Priority is also given to the following (in order of said priority):

• City of Marietta programs and events.
• Programs and activities co-sponsored by the City of Marietta and other sponsors.
• Programs and activities sponsored by schools, college/universities, civic and youth non-profit sports organizations.
• Programs and activities sponsored by adult non-profit sports organizations.
• Activities and events for private functions held by individuals and groups who are residents of the City of Marietta.
• Profit-making organizations, seminars, tradeshows, etc.

As this is a public park, parking is very much plentiful. Franklin Gateway Sports Complex boasts a grand total of 207 parking spaces, which includes six (6) accessible spaces. Two additional spaces are designated as EV charging stations. 🅿️
