Last year, Plei expanded into our 7th market, Chicago, Illinois. 💜
Since December 2021, we have been hosting pickup games at Chicago Futsal Academy, and we are looking forward to continuing doing so for many years to come. As part of our new blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
They are, in fact, the only indoor facility on Chicago’s North Side, located in Edgewater.
Veterans in the indoor soccer business in this area, it’s no surprise that CFA has a lot to offer. They were also recently renovated just last year! Check out a video tour of the newly renovated facility on their Facebook here,
They have three (3) fully air-conditioned turf futsal fields, separated by glass walls, which are best suited for 4v4, 5v5 and 6v6 games. 7v7 is also possible!
Parking is available on-site, but spots are limited. If it happens to be full, there is street parking along North Clark Street and on West Hood Avenue. Oh, and what’s more convenient is that the Clark Street Bus stops right in front of the facility, so if you can’t drive (or don’t feel like it), this is another option of getting to CFA!
Not quite ready to play upon arriving? CFA has you covered with both men’s and women’s locker rooms, so you can change into your winning outfit prior to your pickup game or into a new set of clothes afterwards.
Feel free to relax at CFA’s very own clubhouse, where you’ll find a bar and grill! Water, energy drinks and beer are available for purchase, as well as a full food menu. There are plenty of tables and televisions, giving this area of the venue a pub-like vibe. The clubhouse has its own exclusive website, where you can check out their menu and all the events that are happening.
CFA has their very own soccer shop where you can buy all your footy necessities, like cleats, shin guards, balls and more.
Having been around for over a decade, CFA has managed to put together a long track record of partnerships. They are the official training center for numerous prestigious travel soccer clubs, including Loyola University, Chicago Fire Juniors, Team Evanston, AYSO and Northwind, They are also the playground for Player Sports and Kick it Social.
There are no referees, so you’ll be calling your own fouls, offsides and handballs. The facility conveniently provides a futsal ball and bibs for pickup games, but they won’t provide shin guards or keeper gloves. so pack your equipment accordingly. CFA recommends that you show up 10-15 early to your scheduled game. Finally, regular cleats are not allowed!
