On March 1, 2020, we announced Plei’s entrance into its third market, Orlando, FL! 🎢
We were so excited to finally welcome Central Florida to our family, but as luck would have it, the pandemic happened. We waited patiently (and we know our Orlando ballers were waiting patiently too) until finally in January 2021, we relaunched! 🔥
Beyond our partnerships with private pickup facilities, we also work to have a presence at the fields found at local public parks! Central Winds Park in Winter Springs is one of those. As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner fields in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬

With 103 acres to its name, Central Winds Park in Winter Springs is easily one of the most spacious parks in all of Central Florida. Not only does it boast courts & fields for pretty much any sport you can imagine, but the beautiful landscape that surrounds the area - which includes the sparkling Lake Jesup - establishes it as a prime destination for casual park goers.
Soccer, football, baseball, softball, tennis, pickleball, basketball, volleyball; it can all be played at Central Winds Park’s sports areas, which take up the majority of the acres on this site. We’ve got a lot to cover, so we’ll go in order of how we listed them, starting with the beautiful game.
Although multi-purpose athletic fields with overlays for multiple sports are a pretty common theme at public complexes, this Winter Springs park offers a number of natural grass surfaces that are exclusively lined for soccer. The first few of these can be found on the east side of the park near Winter Springs High School.
These are your full-size, 11v11 fields, each one equipped with lighting fixtures to accommodate nighttime matches. Team benches and bleachers are also available.
The last of the four fields found on this side of Central Winds Park is an interesting one: one half of it is a miniature baseball/softball field, while the other half has a small-sided soccer pitch for 7v7.
There are two more soccer fields available, and you’ll have to take a quick stroll over to the central west end of the park to run into them. They’ll be immediately west of Central Winds Parkway and immediately north of a parking lot. This pair of footy fields are larger than the 7v7 field we mentioned earlier but still about half the size of the 11v11 ones.
That being said, expect to play some 9v9 on these.
Head immediately north of these fields and you’ll see an open grass field space that - at the time of writing - is unlined. We mention this because we don’t want to give false information in case things change at some point in the future. So, if you’re visiting Central Winds Park and notice that the field does happen to be lined for a sport, give us a shout.
Until then, we will go ahead and classify it as multi-purpose.
The next field over also is not lined, although this one has football goal posts installed, as well as soccer nets available off to the side.
Moving on to baseball & softball, you’ll find a grand total of eight (9) other fields - besides the one mini one that we mentioned before - for America’s pastime.
Some full transparency: we have no idea what distinguishes a baseball field from a softball one, so we apologize in advance. That being said, you’ve got four (4) equally-sized fields near the southwest corner of the park, and another four (4) can be found at the center of the park. One of these is about half the size as the others.
Last but not least, a final baseball field is situated across the street from the first four soccer fields we laid out. Stay put in this area of the park, because this is where our next sport is located.
Six (6) tennis courts are available just east of that last baseball field, divided into three pairs. Oh, and in case you thought we were done with multi-purpose fields, there’s one right next to these courts.
There’s more racket action where that came from, or should we say paddle. The latest addition to Central Winds Park arrived in April 2024: a pickleball center. You can find these brand-new installations at the far west end of the complex.
If you’re still with us, we’ve got one final section of the park to cover. For this, we have to head all the way northwest. To make the trip easier, just head all the way up Central Winds Parkway, take the second exit in the roundabout that you’ll come across here, head halfway down Orange Avenue and your destination will be on your right.
On top of this space being yet another multi-purpose grass area, you’ll also find a half basketball court, as well as a pair of sand volleyball courts. Restrooms are located here, too, by the way.
Any frequent park goer knows better than anybody that having a lot of amenities doesn’t automatically make a park good. You can have all the fields in the world, but the question is “are you maintaining them all?”
Central Winds Park certainly does. They are a two-time recipient of the “Fields of Excellence” award for their well-maintained fields. The beautiful landscape that the park naturally boasts was also a key factor.
Speaking of landscape, you can take full advantage of it by either hosting a picnic or using the park’s extensive nature trails. After a bit of exploring, you might even come across some things we didn’t even get to mention.
On that suspenseful note, we’ll leave you to it.
