In November 2022, Plei officially expanded into our 13th market, Atlanta, Georgia! 🍑
Beyond our partnerships with private pickup facilities, we also work to have a presence at the fields found at local public parks! Brook Run Park in Dunwoody is one of those. As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner fields in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
Keep reading to learn more about all things Brook Run Park before you head out to play. 👇
With well over 100 acres to its name, Brook Run Park takes the cake as the largest in the area. As you might expect with a park of this size, there is plenty to do and see here. Whether you’re into sports, looking to spend some quality time with some family or friends or are just a good ol’ nature lover, best believe you are going to be far from bored during your visit.
More specifically, if your preference is the beautiful game, you’ve picked the right place.
Soccer players can feel right at home at Brook Run Park thanks to the presence of two (2) state-of-the-art, multi-purpose synthetic turf fields that are primarily equipped for footy. These pitches set the scene for some of the most vibrant 11v11 outdoor fixtures that are enhanced thanks to the surplus of groves that can be found throughout the entirety of the park.
It doesn’t get any more classic than outdoor 11-a-side, does it? Catch pickup games at either of the two synthetic turf fields found at Brook Run Park via Plei. Download it from the App Store or Google Play today. 📲
What if we told you that the extent of footy action doesn’t stop at just these fields? Brook Run Park is home to a pair of baseball fields that were designed with Dunwoody Senior Baseball and Peachtree Charter Middle School. Here’s the kicker, though: these fields, which also feature artificial turf, have a multi-sport overlay, with one of these sports being soccer.
That gives us a grand total of four (4) different fields at Brook Run Park where the beautiful game can be played.
Don’t worry, we won’t be biased for the entirety of this blog. Brook Run Park is as versatile as they come, as they have ensured to not leave out any other pastimes that local Dunwoody residents are known to enjoy.
As we mentioned, baseball & softball are just two other sports that can be played here, but there’s so much more.
We have to start by highlighting the Brook Run Skate Park, the largest of its kind in the metro Atlanta area. This 27,000 sq. ft. facility was designed to accommodate entry-level skaters as well as challenge more advanced skaters who naturally require more difficult terrain.
Starting near the park’s Community Garden and continuing throughout is a disc golf course, which offers 9 tee pads with both long and short baskets.
Our personal favorite activity to enjoy at Brook Run Park (outside of footy, of course) is The Treetop Quest. This is an elevated course and zip-line adventure that showcases 52 obstacles and 12 zip-lines in 4 courses.
The course also includes a Net Trampoline, which is actually the first of its kind in the state of Georgia. For kids aged 4 to 6, a separate low ropes course is also available.
Completing Brook Run Park’s sport amenities are a pair of open field areas that can be used for virtually any sport you can think of that requires a grass surface. The options are pretty much endless.
Beyond sports, other fitness options at the park are also prominent. Bikers, runners and walkers alike can indulge in a 1.8 mile long trail that travels all the way around Brook Run Park. The appeal here is that it connects to the nearby Pernoshal Park, which then connects to Georgetown Park.
Fun fact: if you completely pass through both the Brook Run Park and Pernoshal Park trails, you will have completed a 5K.
Don’t worry if you aren’t quite into any of these aforementioned fitness & sporty activities. Throughout the year, Brook Run Park is actually a hotspot for all kinds of special events, namely Food Truck Thursdays during the summertime, which brings together the most top-rated food trucks that Metro Atlanta and the country as a whole have to offer.
For those familiar with the local music scene, the park is also home to the Groovin’ on the Green Concert Series that showcases music performers once a month from June thru October. This takes place at the Great Lawn and amphitheater space found in the central area of the park.
We’d be here all day if we continued rambling on about all that Brook Run Park has to offer. That being said, feel free to check out their full list of amenities in the Park Highlights section below.
You can also use the map we put below for reference. 🗺️
