On March 1, 2020, we announced Plei’s entrance into its third market, Orlando, FL! 🎢 We were so excited to finally welcome Central Florida to our family, but as luck would have it, the pandemic happened. 😭 We waited patiently (and we know our Orlando ballers were waiting patiently too) until finally in January 2021, we relaunched! 🔥
In September 2024, we began hosting games at a local public complex known as Bear Creek Recreation Complex, and we are looking forward to continuing doing so for many years to come. As part of our new blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
Yet another one in a formidable list of beautiful parks throughout Orange County is Bear Creek Recreational Complex, which does its very best to cater to both the local athletic community as well as nature lovers.
And with 37 acres to its name, it does quite a good job of that, by the way. On the sports end of things, one of the highlights is without a doubt their creekside ball fields. Directly bordering the body of water on two sides is a natural grass soccer field, which is sized and primarily-equipped for 8v8 matches.
Careful not to kick the ball too hard, by the way; you don’t want to have to go fishing for it later.
Unless that happens to be something you’re into. Fortunately, the creek, known as Bear Creek Park Lake (hence the name of the complex), is actually a hotspot for those who hold a fishing pastime.
So, if you fit into that category, be sure to head to one of two (2) designated fishing bridges. You can find the first one connected to the sidewalk that travels past the park’s playground. The other one is a quick stroll south.
You can also fish from one of two (2) baited fishing areas, each marked by sign.
Completing the ball fields found at Bear Creek Recreational Complex is a set of four (4) baseball/softball fields of varying sizes. Along with the soccer pitch, these spaces can be rented for private sessions.
Whether you plan on balling out with your feet or with your hands, we recommend parking at the nearest lot to the ball fields, which you can navigate to by heading all the way down Bear Crossing Drive. It’ll be on your right.
Closing out Bear Creek’s athletic amenities is a sand volleyball court, which can be found near the entrance of the park next to the rec center building. You’ll want to make an immediate right upon entering the complex limits and park in any available spot in this loop area.
