Located immediately across the Chicago River from Avondale within the borders of the Roscoe Village neighborhood, Clark Richard Park features over 22 acres of greenspace designed for the local community to relax, exercise and enjoy recreational activities of all sorts.
One of Clark Richard Park’s many athletic amenities is their outdoor synthetic turf field, which was actually built on top of the land that was once occupied by the Riverview Amusement Park before it closed in 1967. You just had to be there. 🎡
Designed for Chicago ballers of all skill levels and ages, this pitch is full-sized and equipped for 11v11 encounters.
Are you also wanting to showcase your footy skills in a competitive environment? Alongside playing pickup footy with Plei, Clark Richard Park also hosts league play! 🏆
Players Sport & Social Group, an adult social sports organization specific to Chicago, hosts a whole number of leagues for you to enjoy. Some of the options they offer are 11v11 leagues for men and coed, 7v7 leagues for men and coed, and more.

Clark Richard Park is home to Kerry Woods Cubs Field, a turf baseball diamond with overhead lights and seating for over a thousand spectators. Funded by The Chicago Cubs, Chicago Cubs charities, Wood Family Foundation and a number of other significant Chicago organizations, this baseball field is a perfect resource for park kids, student-athletes and the entire community.
Named after legendary Chicago Cubs pitcher Kerry Woods, this is truly a field of dreams! 🌌
Beyond the normal amenities that many parks offer such as fields and walking paths, Clark Richard Park has some unique spots that truly set it apart from many community recreation centers in the area.
If you’re looking for an extra thrill, Clark Richard Park’s The Garden is a set of dirt jumps tailor-made for mountain bikers who are looking to improve their skills. They have jumps, or lines as they call them, for all skill levels. Just don’t forget your protective gear!
If shredding dirt jumps isn’t your thing and you prefer something a bit more soothing, Clark Richard Park boasts a space for you to go kayaking with family and friends! This park is home to the WMS Boathouse, a premier rowing center with year-round low-cost training and unmatched facilities.
In addition to rowing programs, you can also rent kayaks and paddle down the picturesque Chicago River surrounded by trees and cityscapes. 🛶
