We warned you in the blog announcing our Sacramento expansion just two days ago… we are all the way locked in this month. 🔒

We won’t beat around the bush this time around this time, though. Introducing the Plei App’s 22nd and latest region expansion: the San Francisco Bay Area! 🌉

It’s a city that over the years has boasted sporting greats like Stephen Curry, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Reggie Jackson and what seems like an endless list of other legends. Unfortunately, there’s not much to talk about when it comes to the beautiful game. Basketball, football and baseball are the three sports that take priority in the minds of athletes and fans throughout this region. 🧠

While it’s true that the beautiful game typically goes under the radar here more often than not, don’t let the notion distract you from the fact that there’s a fired up community of soccer players & fanatics, young and old, who maintain hope that, one day, their city will be recognized as an fútbol epicenter. 📍

Bay Area locals who deeply follow the sport know to back USL League Two sides San Francisco City FC and San Francisco Glens SC, as well as the University of San Francisco men’s and women’s soccer programs. Bay FC, the latest franchise to join the National Women's Soccer League, is also gaining plenty of support from the community. 🫂

Passion for the game runs through the veins of all San Franciscans who claim soccer as their one true pastime, and we couldn’t help but notice the progress being made. 👀

In a city known for its iconic landmarks, diverse culture, and innovative spirit, San Francisco is about to experience a new wave of excitement thanks to the Plei App, a groundbreaking platform revolutionizing the pickup soccer scene throughout the country. 📲

To ease our way into the San Francisco Bay Area pickup soccer community, we will start by partnering with a veteran facility known as SFF Soccer! You can read more about them in the next section. ⏭️

To introduce ourselves properly to all of our Bay Area ballers, we will be offering our first two pickup games there completely free of charge! 🆓 Sign-ups are available now, so download the Plei App from the App Store or the Google Play Store today! ⚽

The 303-acre neighborhood of Mission Bay is home to one of the most exciting places to experience the beautiful game in San Francisco. 😉

One look at this facility from a bird’s eye view is all you should need to believe us. 🦅

We’re talking about SFF Soccer - Mission Bay Field, home to a FIFA grade all-weather synthetic turf space containing a total of two (2) fields. Each pitch is uniquely designed and ideal for 7-a-side games, but 6v6 can also be accommodated. ⚽

SFF Soccer first opened to the public way back in January 2013, and it’s safe to say they have come a long way. Originally located on Loomis Street, the owners would eventually make the move to establish a second facility Mission Bay, and then further expand their services there to include a second field. ✌️

After all, two is always better than one, isn’t it? 🤷

Like we mentioned before, our first two games in the Bay Area will be available to you all completely for free as we celebrate this second region expansion in just two days’ time! We’ll be marking our debut with a game at SFF Soccer - Mission Bay Field this Friday evening (4/12) at 5pm. Our second fixture will take place Sunday morning (4/14) at 9am. 🗓️
