Few things in life are certain: death, taxes… and Michael Gundlach 🥇 beating everyone else to the top spot in the Plei App Top 100 Players of the Month! In honor of Halloween, we may just have to give him the nickname ‘Michael Myers’ because of the way he is killing the competition! 👻
Having played a scary total of 29 games this past month, Mike makes his return to the summit. He basically played every single day of October! If the Plei App had a Hall of Fame, surely he would be one of the first players inducted.
Mike’s 29 games played is officially a new record, breaking Felix A’s record of 26 games played back in August. Coincidentally, Felix is the man who takes fourth place for the month of October, playing 24 times! We want to congratulate both of them for their efforts. We also noticed that their total games played in 2022 are very similar: 120 for Mike and 128 for Felix. Could this be a rivalry sprouting? 👀
Not if Man Shum has anything to say about it! He finishes this month in eighth place with 17 games played, bringing his 2022 total to an insane 189 games! He is the Plei App’s most active user so far this year. Will he finish strong and become the Plei App Player of the Year? With only November and December left to play, we can’t imagine anybody reaching him. He may not even have to play again for the rest of the year 🤣
Meanwhile, Jhojan Moreno, who’s best monthly finish was back in June in fifth place, is in second place for the entire year. He has played 158 games! Could he make a late comeback to pip Man to the 2022 trophy? It would almost certainly be Barca 6-1 PSG vibes if he makes it happen.
Smigh Jeanbaptiste takes silver 🥈, playing 25 times, which is more games than he had to play to rise to the top last month. His fellow September co-champ Abdul Anderson played 24 times, taking fifth!
A player who has recently been on a rise is Berk Serbetcioglu. With every new month, he seems to inch closer and closer to first place, this time around taking bronze 🥉 with 24 games played. Will he finally come out on top in November or December?
We want to take time to start highlighting something that we never previously thought to highlight: our Plei App veterans! Melchior Ved, who joined the app in September 2018, placed 14th this past month with 16 games played. He’s at 125 games played for the entire year! This is also his first appearance in the top 15.
Another veteran is Ariel Dahan, who joined in November 2018. He’s at 120 games for the year. October’s 7th place finisher Rakin Sharuz, who joined in February of 2019 (and returns to the top 10 for the first time since his second-place finish in July!), is standing at 137 games. We love to see some of our earliest users still going strong on the Plei App! 😁
Once again, South Florida dominates the monthly standings! (We are starting to sound like a broken record with that stat 😅). From first place all the way to 14th, everyone is from South Florida except for Abdul (5th/Houston), Cristian Medina (6th/Denver) and Raymond Flores (9th/Houston).
Finally, we want to shout out the rest of our top 15: Sebastian Lozano (10th), Marco Toledo (11th), Kay Ami (12th), Fabio Cardenas (13th) and Jorge Espinoza (15th)! They each earn their first appearances in the top 15, except for Sebastian, who makes his second appearance in a row. 👏
We love to highlight the growing diversity of the Plei App community. A total of 35 different countries filled up our top 100 in October, with 8 of those countries being represented in the top 15. Overall, 130+ unique nationalities represented the entire Plei App this past month. The “Beautiful Game” in the flesh!

Every month, we will be celebrating our top 15 players based on games played:
4th through 15th placed players will receive 1 free game credit and 1 free shirt
2nd and 3rd placed players will receive 2 free game credits and 2 free shirts
The #1 player of the month will receive3 free Plei App dry fits to wear at the games plus 3 free game credits
Overall, our top 15 players played a grand total of 288 times between them in September. And our top 100 players of the month played a total of 1,301 times!
Here are some stats for the entirety of 2022: our October top 100 have played a combined total of 6,510 times this year, the top 15 have played 1,454 times and our new top 3 of Michael, Smigh and Berk have a combined total of 309 games between them in 2022!
Only two more chances left to make it into a Plei App top 100 leaderboard for this year!
It’s getting real competitive at the top, so we can't imagine what November’s final standings are going to look like!
