May '24 Players of the Month

🤠🔥 DFW ON FIRE IN 2024! 🔥🤠
Here are the players that played the most in the following regions that did not make this month’s Top 15:
🍑 Atlanta: Rene G (15 Games)
🦞 Boston: Luca P (16 Games)
💜 Chicago: Youness A (16 Games)
🏔️ Denver: Thanh L (17 Games)
🚗 Detroit: Seth K (18 Games)
🦅 DMV: Akintomiwa F (17 Games)
🍏 NYC: Andy L & Octavio I (14 Games)
🎢 Orlando: Rodney R (18 Games)
🍭 St. Louis: Kevin Q (16 Games)
Congrats to these players and the many others that put in work every month in our growing regions! We see you! 🥳

They’re not hiding it anymore… DFW ballers are running rampant this year. 🔥

Who’s gonna stop them? We’re honestly not sure. Once again coming out of seemingly nowhere to become a Players of the Month champion is a Plei App player who calls DFW home, and this time it’s Lesley O getting the job done. With 34 games played, the Nigerian helps extend the streak of DFW players rising to the summit of our monthly rankings to 4 months. 🤠
What’s more is that, out of the six occasions that we have crowned a winner from the region, four of these coincided with the player’s debut in the Top 15. DFW is still not even close to matching the efforts of South Florida ballers in terms of POTM successes (South Floridians have achieved 19 wins since May 2022), but it’s a promising sign of a more competitive atmosphere between Plei regions. 🗺️
If you’re curious, Houston currently holds 4 crowns. No player from any other region besides these three have ever won the Players of the Month competition. With Plei already in so many regions throughout the country (we’re at 24 and counting), we’re fully expecting this to change very, very soon. 👀
Let’s move on now, shall we? 🤷
If he wasn’t comfy before, he sure is now. Japanese Plei App Pioneer Taka S has finished in silver for the third-consecutive month, this time equalling his best games played tally that he previously achieved in March. At this point we think he might be doing it on purpose. Regardless, we can’t wait to see him strike gold soon enough. ⌛
Emil T is back and better than ever after missing out in April! The DFW baller has finished with bronze, which actually isn’t his best-ever placement. Emil previously finished with a silver medal back in November 2023. He does, however, achieve a new personal best of 27 games this month. 🔥
We’ve got five debutants to cover this month, with our first one finding himself in 4th place, just short of podium. Congrats goes out to Venezuelan baller Kevin P, who managed a solid 26 games out in South Florida! 🆕
This is just what we were expecting: just a month after we covered the return of Donald S and his efforts that saw him come just one game of equalling his personal best of 23 games, he has gone on and officially broke it! Finishing in 5th in May, Donald’s record is now at 25 games. 🏅
Marking a second-consecutive appearance is Eduardo C, who once again manages 25 games to make the Top 15. This time, though, he finishes in 6th place, two spots short of what he achieved last time out despite playing the same amount. Nonetheless, it’s a strong effort from the Mexican baller! 👌
Following his 24-game debut last month, Uriel G has went ahead and replicated that figure to appear once again in May, this time in 7th place. We hope to see him earn some new badges very soon. 🤞
There he is! This list wouldn’t be complete without him; it’s back-to-back champ Curtis C in 8th place. We’d gotten so used to his efforts in the last two months that we were getting worried that he wouldn’t appear at all in May, but luckily that wasn’t to be the case. The DFW 2-time gold medalist played a humble 22 games in what was seemingly a rest month for him. 😴
We can only wait to see what June brings. 😶
Some more familiar faces: it’s Melchior V in 9th place and Luis S in 10th! With 22 games played, Melchior extends his Top 15 appearance streak to four months. Luis, meanwhile, missed out in April but is back with 22 games as well, a figure just one short of his own personal best. 🤏
We already highlighted one, but our other four debutants in our May leaderboard fill out the next few spots. Congrats goes out to Raimel V (11th), David G (12th), Santi M (13th) and Erick D (14th), and we hope to see more of you all in the coming months! 😁
Closing out our Top 15 is Guillermo M, who is actually celebrating a return to the Top 15 for the first time since January 2023! Prior to that, he had made two other appearances, having debuted with bronze in July 2022 and then managing a 4th place effort in September. 👊
We’re so glad to have you back competing, Guillermo! 😊

We love to highlight the growing diversity of the Plei App community. A total of 32 different countries filled up our Top 100 in May, with 7 of those countries being represented in the Top 15. Overall, 112+ unique nationalities represented the entire Plei App this past month. The “Beautiful Game” in the flesh! ♥️
We want to remind everyone that all players who make it into our monthly top 100 earn a free Plei App shirt! 🆓
🚨REMINDER 🚨: We no longer use one consistently updated link where you would all normally keep track of your leaderboard progress. Instead, a new link is provided each month. 📆

Here is the final list for the Top 15 players of May 2024!

As a reminder, here are the prizes for the Top 15 players (updated as of September 2022)!

Plei App Players of the Month

Every month, we will be celebrating our Top 15 players based on games played:
  • 4th through 15th placed players will receive 1 free game credit and 1 free shirt
  • 2nd and 3rd placed players will receive 2 free game credits and 2 free shirts
  • The #1 player of the month will receive 3 free Plei App dry fits to wear at the games plus 3 free game credits
Overall, our Top 15 players played a total of 363 times between them in May. Meanwhile, our Top 100 players of the month played a total of 1,708 times! 🙌

It’s clear that DFW ballers are determined to close the gap with South Florida, but there’s still plenty of work to do. 😅
"I have to keep working hard and playing well because I don’t like to be second or third. They’re the worst places to be. You would be proud, of course, because it means you’re on the way, but you want to finish first." - Paul Pogba 🇫🇷

Will you climb to the top of the Plei App rankings in June? 🤔
