🎁 It’s the season of giving, but our new champion was never going to give up the top spot! 🎁
Back in November, we saw Sanjay Thap from Dallas take first place, hence becoming the first player outside of South Florida to be named champion. Now in December, our new winner, Sean Fargo, also makes Plei App history: Houston finally has a Player of the Month! 🥇
23 games played is what it took for Sean to beat the rest of the competition. But check out this stat: he only joined the Plei App on December 10 😳 This means Sean played 23 pickup games in only 21 days. That’s a game a day, with the exception of two days in which he played twice! 🤯
The Plei App GOAT himself, Man Shum, takes second place to end the year 🥈 There’s not much we need to say about this guy. He played 21 times in December and has officially become one of the few players to appear in every single POTM leaderboard since our first one back in May 😳
Ryan Chin makes his return to the Top 15 with a 21-match performance in the month of December! Coincidentally, the last time he made it was back in August when he also played 21 games to finish 7th. Those same 21 games have now secured him a bronze medal! 🥉
Although he was never able to grab the top spot, Jhojan Moreno was easily one of the most consistent Plei App users this past year, appearing in all but 2 leaderboards in 2022. He still has something to celebrate, though! In December, he played the most games he’s ever played in one month (20 games), winning him his highest ever placement at 4th place 4️⃣
Berk Serbetcioglu was also an ever-present face in our POTM leaderboards in the past year. He finishes off the year strong in 5th place with 19 games played. Berk and Jhojan are definitely 2 players to watch in 2023, so remember their names! ⚽
September co-champion Abdul Anderson grabs a 6th place finish for December, playing 18 times. He missed out on November’s Top 15, so we’re glad to see him back among our most active users! Meanwhile, Smigh Jeanbaptiste finishes 10th; he hasn’t failed to appear in the Top 15 since winning it all alongside Abdul!
We also wanted to applaud the efforts of Javi Perrigo, who is from Peru and plays his Plei App footy in South Florida. He made his first ever Top 15 appearance last month when he played 15 times to finish 13th. Now, he has placed 7th with 18 games played. Talk about improvement! 👏
Following a 2nd place finish in November, Yussef G placed 9th in December with 17 games played. This marks 2 consecutive Top 15 appearances for Yussef! Can he make it 3 in January? 🤔
Also making his second ever appearance in the POTM Top 15 is Kay Ami from South Florida. With 17 games played, he placed 11th to end the year. We’re hoping to see more of him throughout 2023! 😁
We’re happy to see new winners emerging from our various regions available on the Plei App! It was all South Florida until last month when Sanjay Thap (Dallas) took home 1st place. Now in December, Sean Fargo (Houston) has won it all! Which will be the next region to be represented by a Plei App champion? 🤔
We want to shout out the rest of our top 15: Chris Aguilar (8th), Kristina Noto (12th), Carlos Villatoro Bardales (13th), Maestro Hazard (14th) and Eric Castro (15th)! 🙌
We love to highlight the growing diversity of the Plei App community. A total of 30 different countries filled up our top 100 in December, with 10 of those countries being represented in the top 15. Overall, 130+ unique nationalities represented the entire Plei App this past month. The “Beautiful Game” in the flesh!

Plei App Players Of The Month
Every month, we will be celebrating our top 15 players based on games played:
4th through 15th placed players will receive 1 free game credit and 1 free shirt
2nd and 3rd placed players will receive 2 free game credits and 2 free shirts
The #1 player of the month will receive3 free Plei App dry fits to wear at the games plus 3 free game credits
Overall, our top 15 players played a total of 269 times between them in December. And our top 100 players of the month played a total of 1,252 times!
Here are some stats for the entirety of 2022: our December Top 15 played 1,672 times and our final Top 3 of the year (Sean Fargo, Man Shum, Ryan Chin) played a grand total of 340 games between them in 2022 (but we know Man is responsible for the majority of those games 😅)
